Rotary Leadership Institute
The Rotary continuum starts at the club level and grows. There is a much larger Rotary world that is just waiting for you to embrace it once you understand what it is all about.  Come and join us at the upcoming Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI) sessions being offered via ZOOM in February (Part 1), March (Part 2) and April (Part 3), 2022.  RLI is open to all Rotarians and Rotaractors in District 7090.  It is an excellent opportunity to meet new Rotary friends (albeit virtually) and expand your Rotary experience.

RLI is made up of three parts (covering six topics per part – the topics range from My Leadership in Rotary, The Rotary Foundation, Attracting Members, to Effective Leadership Strategies… plus many more).  A more detailed outline of the topics is attached to this e-mail.

To graduate from RLI you will need to attend all three parts and you MUST take them in sequential order (Part 1, then Part 2, then Part 3).  While it is a commitment, it is well worth it.  You will grow in Rotary and the fellowship is one of the best parts of all Rotary events.

Also attached is an agenda, which outlines when and what sessions are being held in February, March and April, 2022.

January 18, 2022 Rotary Meeting
Our Club celebrated its 28th anniversary at the Jan 18 weekly meeting.  Members enjoyed the celebration with many donning birthday hats, and a few even bringing balloons.

Carol Lipsett introduced our club’s newest member, Vince Francescut.  Vince shared how he first visited NoTL by staying at the Prince of Wales Hotel on his Honeymoon.  After working on Bay St in Toronto for 10 years, Vince and his family moved to Virgil.  Vince and his wife Danielle have 2 children.  Vince initially became interested in Rotary after being impressed with the club’s fund-raising activities.  President Patricia formally inducted Vince ... Welcome to the Club!

President Patricia started the birthday portion of the meeting by noting that our club has been in existence since 1994 (28 years).  Our club has proudly raised over $1 million and is part of District 7090 which has 66 clubs in it from both Canada and the US.  We are proud that 2 of our club’s founding members are still active members of the club (Bill Clark, Patrick MacNeill.)  A video, showcasing the club’s activities over the past 6 months was shown, reminder everyone of our club's recent accomplishments.  A big thank you to Jolanta for putting the presentation together.

After the presentation, members were divided into small teams in virtual break-out rooms.  We were given the ‘Membership Challenge’, a questionnaire comprised of 45 questions relating to our club’s various members. Both seasoned and new members alike had the opportunity to introduce themselves to one another and provide some background on themselves. It was a great opportunity to learn more about our fellow members, and fascinating to hear one another's background.  It’s not clear how many of the Membership Challenge questions got answered during the meeting, but now we know each other a bit better which was welcomed by all!  Members have until Feb 15 to complete the Challenge and be eligible for various prizes.

President Patricia concluded the fun meeting with the following thought for the week: “Rotary’s 4-Way Test is a mirror, not a window.”
